This is a very large Standard Plans Diagram Book for the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie, Wisconsin Central, and the Duluth, South Shore and Atlantic Railway. The index pages and all diagrams are marked for the Soo (M.St.P.&S.Ste.M. Ry.), many diagrams are also marked for the DSS&A and some were later stamped DSS&A, some are also marked Wisconsin Central. Diagrams are dated from the teens and the book appears to be updated to 1957. There are 285 sheets in this book. Subjects range from nuts and bolts to turnouts and other track work to trestles, signs and even windmills. There are several notes addressed to: “Holders of the Book of Standards” and are dated 1957.
The original book was quite a mixture of dates and formats. About 1/3rd of the sheets were true white-line blueprints, the other a mixture of blue-line and black-line blueprints. All diagrams have been converted to black lines drawings for easier readability and printing. Some of the original diagrams were frayed or missing corners. Some of the blueprints were very light and are difficult to read. They are included anyway for as complete a record as possible.
This is a scan of an original Soo Line (M.St.P.&S.Ste.M & D.S.S.&A.) Standard Plan Book. Updated to 1957. Page sizes range from 8.5×11 to 11×17 inches, you can use the zoom-in feature on any page.
