You’ll see magnificent track side shots at trestles, signal crossings, turns, grades, through Jack London Square and along San Francisco Bay. This video has no music and only introductory narration. 98% of the video is pure, wonderful, stereo, locomotive sound.

She is the Pride and Joy of the Southern Pacific, besides 4-8-4 Daylight #4449. This Pacific really gets up and goes! You will thoroughly enjoy this presentation. Skyfire never disappoints in ANY of their videos! Very well done.

SP 2472 is a locomotive that hasn’t gotten a lot of videos released on it, but Skyfire followed the high-stepping “Pacific” on this excursion and did the engine justice.

Using the same mini-cam techniques learned from “Ghost Train” and “Daylight Express”, this video features views of the track ahead, the mechanical beauty of the rods and wheels in action and even the crew working in the cab.

Minimal narration and no music allows the railfan to enjoy the sounds of the engine at work without any interruptions. This video is highly recommended for any fan of steam, especially Southern Pacific power.

During 1993, the 2472 carried a long string of daylight painted coaches alongside the San Francisco Bay Area. Introductive narration from Jim Mitchell is included, as well as some preparations in the workshop. Multiple cameras are placed in the cab, on top of the soon to be 100 year old 4-6-2, etc. There is also some street running through jack London square in Oakland. Some of these footages were later shown in the 1995 video: Giants on the rails.
