Short Lines and Short Stories is a compilation of five short films from Black 5 Video featuring the Vermont Rail System, New England Central, Silver Lake Railroad, Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes Railroad and the Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum. Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum: This film was made as a promotional film for the Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum in Shelburne Falls, MA. It covers a brief history of the Shelburne Falls and Colrain Street Railway and how trolley number 10 was saved and restored to operation. Filmed in 2008.

The Switcher: The Switcher follows New England Central train number 601 from Charlestown to North Walpole, NH as the crew performs switching duties in a daily race against the clock. Filmed in 2007.

Noah and the Shovel: See what happens when a young track worker uses the boss’ shovel for a Tamping Iron. Filmed on the Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes Railroad in 2007. This short film is also a bonus feature on the Maine Narrow Gauge Vol. 2: Sandy River and Rangeley Lakes.

A Century of Service: The snow plow must be tested before it goes out and this plow has been pushing snow since 1912! Get a short demonstration from a Vermont Rail System official of how a Canadian Pacific built Air Operated Wedge Plow works. Filmed in 2008, this short feature was also included in the Plow Extra 405 DVD.

Silver Lake Railroad: This railroad runs through some beautiful scenery in eastern New Hampshire using unique light rail passenger equipment.
