Sherman Hill, Union Pacific’s crossing of the Continental Divide in Wyoming, is one of the greatest shows in railroading. This is big time railroading with a constant parade of trains – as many as 100 trains a day go through Hermosa Tunnel on this line. See all the great spots from Cheyenne to Laramie and over Sherman Hill: Borie, Speer, Dale, Hermosa, Tie and Sherman Summit. It is quite the hike to get to some of these locations. Locations like Laramie, Cheyenne and Sherman Hill are synonymous with the Union Pacific, and this program has a nice feeling of history about it … one hard-working train after another in a remote landscape that has its own kind of beauty. The video was shot more than 25 years ago, so the locomotives UP was using at the time might seem “classic” by today’s standards. And that alone adds interest to the program. You’ll be glad to have “Sherman” in your collection.

Sherman Hill is a fascinating location for trains. Heading across Wyoming, which is not exactly known for it’s scenic beauty by some people, this video shows the work that heavy trains had to do to cross this fairly baron region on the eastern side of the mountains. I think that this is an excellent show and highly enjoyed all the action seen. Well done Highball

GREAT DVD FOR THE MONEY. IT SHOWS YOU THE CROSSING OF SHERMAN HILL ON THE CONTINENTAL DIVIDE IN WYOMING. ONE OF THE GREATEST SHOW’S IN RAILROADING. GREAT TRAIN ACTION ABOUT 100 TRAINS PER DAY THROUGH THE HERMOSA TUNNEL. SEE ALL THE GREAT SPOTS LIKE CHEYENNE TO LARAMIE TO SHERMAN HILL TO SPEER TO SHERM SUMMIT. AGAIN A GREAT DVD FOR THE MONEY, ONLY BAD THING THE COLOR ISN’T VERY GOOD, 4 STARS AND 1 HOUR AND 55 MINUTES LONG.

This was OK. The color wasn’t great. It didn’t give as much information, as to locations of points of interest, or were going to try and find “the hill”.
