First up we visit the largest classification yard in the Northeast as well as the lines that lead to it. Includes great trackside video, exclusive detailed views from within the yard, and some neat aerial footage. And then we travel the CSX Selkirk Branch. It runs for slightly over 41 miles, cutting away from the Chicago line, then climbing out of the Mohawk River Valley to reach Selkirk Yard. Overpasses closed to motor vehicles, giant bridges over major rivers, busy interlockings, and easily accessible grade crossings are just some of the highlights for the railfan visiting this area.

Conrail Blue is alive and well! Selkirk Yard has long been a hub of rail activity in the northeast, and Broken Knuckle Video Productions has done a superb job of showcasing the yard and the lines radiating in and out of this hot spot. The footage is now 25 years old, and includes a nice cross-section of the Conrail locomotive roster, with plenty of surprises along the way. As always, BKVP’s videography is very well done, including some nice aerial shots. And there’s just the right amount of narration to add to your understanding of operations and the role Selkirk plays in railroading in the northeast. Five enthusiastic stars for two hours of great railfan video!

I found this DVD very good because we can see lot of yard action and action arround the yard. Also we can see lot of Conrail units.
