Eight railroads and an incredible trolley line serve this area, they are: Illinois Central, Norfolk Southern, Kansas City Southern, CSX, Union Pacific, Southern Pacific, New Orleans Public Belt RR, New Orleans Lower Coast RR, and the Regional Transit Authority.

Visit the CSX yard, including locomotive servicing, tower action; trolleys of the St. Charles line (through the heartland of restored mansions); a fantastic cab ride on the New Orleans Lower Coast Railroad; including lift bridges; a tour of the Public Belt Railroad yards and shops; and a tour through the Regional Transit Authority’s shops where trolleys are completely rebuilt to appear as old units…a fascinating review of preservation and restoration! You’ll also witness incredible photography at the Huey P. Long bridge over the Mississippi River. Here you’ll see U.P., CSX, and SP crossing this spectacular bridge…shot from many angles!

Originally released in 1996, this program covers a huge variety of Diesels in the Bayou state which was filmed way before the Disasters of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

Aside from Downtown New Orleans itself with various steamboats, city blocks, interesting Trolley cars, & historic still images, there are other Locations like Gentilly Yard, Clayburn Ave. Bridge at Oliver Yard, Street Running near Gretmut, A cab ride to Myrtle Grove on the New Orleans Lower Coast, Avendale Yard, the Huey P. Long Bridge, Mays Yard in Herriman, Jefferson Heights, East Bridge Junction Tower, & Metteray. Plus the Carrolton to St. Charles Ave line on the City’s Trolley System with a visit to the shops.
