This Sequel from Rails Chicago in 1986/1987, showcases a parade of diesels on Amtrak, Via Rail, Elgin Joliet & Eastern, Conrail, Chicago Short Line, Norfolk Southern, CSX, Chicago & Northwestern (before it was purchased by the UP in late April of ’95), Southern Pacific (with one SD40T-2 having the same number as a CN/Via Rail/Potomac Eagle/Grand Canyon Railway ALCO FPA-4: 6793 that is), SOO Line, Indiana Harbor Belt, Iowa Interstate, Grand Trunk, Canadian National, Wisconsin Central, Illinois Central with one unit having the same number as a Rio Grande Mikado on the Durango & Silverton (481 that is), Metra Commuter Rail, LMX, Burlington Northern, Santa Fe (which these scenes were filmed prior to the Merger with the BN in September of that year), Cotton Belt, Rio Grande, & Union Pacific.

Locations for the 1995 visit include the Union Station area with the Amtrak Yard & Lift Bridge, Hammond Indiana, the bridges of Blue Island, Homewood Station, Dolton Diamond, Highlands Station on the triple track line from Chicago to Galesburg with the camera crew’s shadow at sunset in some scenes, Hillsdale Station, Joliet Union Station with one of the last times that the tower operator handed train orders to the crew of an Iowa Interstate Freight before it was discontinued the following July of that year, Elmhurst depot, & ends at Franklin Park diamond.

Overall, Hollywood Actor Dan Chandler did a magnificent job narrating this program.
