Historically St. Louis has been one of the greatest rail crossroads in the United States. Even with mergers and abandoned lines the city hosts an impressive number of railroads. Come with us and see trains from the Alton & Southern, Amtrak, BNSF, CSX, KCS, Manufactures Railway, NS, TRRA and the Union Pacific. See all the action on the huge MacArthur Bridge, Merchants Bridge, Gateway Yard, Laclede’s Landing, Granite City, Grand Boulevard, the Amtrak Station, Valley Junction, Bremen Interlocking and Kirkwood. You’ll see a lot of trains and some gritty urban railroading too.

The narration can be turned off/on.

Colorful locomotives, a variety of consists and a setting with character … that’s railroading in St. Louis. The videography is solid and camera locations are well chosen. And with multiple railroads moving through a relatively compact area, you’ll find yourself anxious to see what might be coming next. The Mississippi River provides the backdrop for much of the action, with a nice glimpse at river traffic to go along with the trains. Until you get to St. Louis (or get back), this program is an enjoyable alternative.

Another big city rail road video. Always interesting to see the various locations around the cities. No exception here. Scenes from both sides of the Mississippi River are shown with a lot of action from the calss 1′ and from shortline/regionals as well as commuter and Amtrak passenger service. If you want to see a lot of train action in a relatively small area… this video is for you.

Very good, updated look on some of the busy railroading spots in and around the St. Louis area. Bridge crossings from both sides of Mississippi River including a couple of tugboat’s pulling barges were cool. Also, the narrator pointed out some “words of caution” at a couple location’s I thought were helpful.
    Well worth it.
