This program covers two separate trips on the Keokuk Junction Railway, the first on Monday November 23, 2009 and the second on a snowy January 25, 2010. Beginning at Kolbe (near Mapleton, Illinois) and going as far west as Good Hope each day.
Peoria & Western FP9’s 1750 & 1752 with a P&W geep trailing went west with a good sized train on Nov. 23rd. They met the eastbound at Good Hope and swapped trains, then headed back.
On the morning of January 25th snow began to fall as #1752 and geep made up their train before departure at Kolbe. Snow showers, heavy at times, whitened the right of way. As the day grew longer, the winds picked up and the temperature dropped.

Photographed years before these Early Diesels were retired in 2019, the late Roger Holmes captured these Lovely Black & Yellow F-Units that were originally constructed for Canadian National with some Geeps at the Transition from the 2000s to the 2010s decade on the Keokuk Junction Railway at locations like Glasford, Canton (Not Massachusetts which is on the route of Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor), Cuba, Smithfield, Marietta (Not Georgia), New Philadelphia, crossing the BNSF diamond at Bushnell (Not Nebraska), & Good Hope Illinois with a variety of freight trains in both the fall & winter.
15 years after these scenes were recorded, 1750 & B Unit 1761 have returned to Canada as they are now at Saskatchewan, while 1752 is on the Ohio River Scenic Railroad in Indiana.
As always with every title that Holmes made, they are 100% Narration Free with on-screen subtitles so that the viewer can enjoy the sounds of the locomotives hard at work in all 4 seasons of the year.
