Originally released in 1994, this 4th volume of Walter Berko’s Pennsylvania Railroad Power series chronicles more action on Horseshoe Curve in Altoona when steam was still in charge on this iconic hot spot that is now owned by Norfolk Southern. Then we pass by Alto Tower, see a work train from high above at an unknown location, & also on the ground while cleaning up A big mess. Plus, there is a ride from the rear of the train as we go through the Gaitzlin Tunnels, later on, there is a cab ride.

Included are 2-10-0s, 2-10-4s, 4-8-2s, a 6-8-6 Steam Turbine, the mighty 4-4-4-4 T1 Duplex type locomotives, K4 pacific type 4-6-2s with a look at future famous survivor 1361 on display while a ceremony is held at the same time, Plus Early Diesels raging from both E & F units to Centipede type locomotives, Baldwin built Shark nose units, Alcos, & even electrics from Boxcabs, to the Mighty GG1s on the northeast corridor. Not to Mention the Aerotrain passing by 1361. In the yard, a freight arrives with 2 Geeps: Baltimore & Ohio 6589, & Jersey Central 1524.

After the Montage that was captured by the films of Mr. Bob Watson, Mr. John Reinhard, & Mr. JJ Boder, there are some Public Domain Films (which they’re all in Black & White), followed by an actual sound recording of Dispatchers & Block Operators on the job during March of 1965, & even a vintage Sing-Along Song: Don’t Stand Me In, which was recorded from a Record Player.

One of the Company Films: “Wheels of Steel” was also used in the Pennsylvania Collection Combo by Pentrex.
