In Southeast Wyoming the Laramie Mountains mark the division between the Great Plains and the Rockies. Rising to over 9,500 feet above sea-level, the transition from prairie to mountains is subtle except for the Sherman Granite rock outcroppings which dominate the landscape. Three sets of steel rails twist and wind through this remarkable setting with a history dating back to the First Transcontinental Railroad. This is Union Pacific’s legendary route over Sherman Hill.
We will begin in historic Cheyenne Wyoming and head west as long, heavy trains snake their way over the highest point on the Transcontinental Railroad. You’ll see trains passing through deep cuts, over high fills and rolling through the legendary Hermosa Tunnel. Witness monster manifests over 2 miles long tackling the grade. This is big time railroading in the Cowboy State as trains travel Over Sherman Hill on Union Pacific’s Laramie Subdivision.

Absolutely the best video presentation made covering Sherman Hill. From Cheyenne to Laramie, the region is well explained and the scenic locations are excellent. All 3 lines are covered with details about the lines, and some of the history of the area as well. For travelling railfans who plan to visit the region….. Take notes as you will not find a better way to learn about Sherman Hill than by this video. Grab your cameras and lets go.

Love the Union Pacific and modern railroading. Always like to learn about different rail road operations. I would recommend this video to all of my rail fan friends. Beautiful scenery and great production quality. Worth the purchase and I think I would buy more from this producer.

This was great. I liked that it was (fairly) current, shot in 2013. Enough info was given, that some areas might be found by railfans. If you have not been out West, this DVD was great.

This DVD is beautifully put together in both narration and photography. The scenes are amazing with rich detail throughout the entire DVD. A must have for all rail fan enthusiasts throughout the country.
