Follow the former Conrail Chicago main line between Toledo, Ohio and Elkhart, Indiana, which is known as one of the busiest corridors on the entire Norfolk Southern system. You’ll see plenty of trains, including Norfolk Southern freights of all varieties, Amtrak trains, Canadian Pacific trackage rights trains, and even some short-line operations. Elkhart, IN to Chicago, IL Green Frog Productions again partners with Chris Wehman to bring you Norfolk Southern – A Tour of the Thoroughbred. We will begin in Elkhart, Indiana, and continue west to downtown Chicago, Illinois. The Norfolk Southern mainline passes through gritty northwestern Indiana, and you’ll get a taste of it as steel mills create a fitting backdrop to passing trains. As always, you’ll see trains in all types of weather, and in all seasons. Several railroads will be seen, we’ll even witness some of the short lines that operate around the steel mills. IN/OH State line to Peru, IN Norfolk Southern, A Tour of the Thoroughbred again joins Chris Wehman as he takes us deep in to the heart of the former Wabash Railroad. Our look at Norfolk Southern’s busy Huntington District begins at the Indiana / Ohio state line and continues to the crew change point in Peru, Indiana. We’ll visit locations such as Butler, St. Joe, and Fort Wayne on our way west. As with other programs in the Tour of the Thoroughbred series, you will see trains in all seasons, as well as at night.
