Follow the former Conrail Chicago main line between Toledo, Ohio and Elkhart, Indiana, which is known as one of the busiest corridors on the entire Norfolk Southern system. We will begin in Elkhart, Indiana, and continue west to downtown Chicago, Illinois. The Norfolk Southern mainline passes through gritty northwestern Indiana, and you’ll get a taste of it as steel mills create a fitting backdrop to passing trains.
