Railfan and professional railroader Lee Avis is joined by railfans Howard W. Ameling and Joe Sova for this look at the NYC on the Ohio Division, around NYC and Harmon Shops. Watch Mohawks, Hudsons, FM units, RDCs, Sharks and much more as we see crack NYC passenger trains on the Ohio Division, around Cleveland (C.U.T.) and New York City. We also visit the shops and see car washing, switching/building passenger trains and the Harmon Diesel and Electric shop area.

Shot on silent, B&W 8mm film and that is how it comes to you, backed with music, as silent “film” now on DVD.

  1. Mwdonoughue

This DVD includes steam, diesel and electric locomotives as they pull freight and passenger trains throughout the NYC system. We also get to see the trial runs of a jet-powered Budd RDC car.

  2. rickyfreni

A trip back in time to witness everyday work on the NYC is very decent to see, as well as a variety of Steam power such as the 4-8-2 mohawks, 4-8-4 niagras, and the mighty/popular hudsons which the real things are scrapped at least we got some fine models by Lionel, and others, plus there are early diesels which they have since been retired, displayed, sold to museums, and sadly gone for scrap. Not to mention being merged. Overall, good compilation, decent trains, and fine music as these films will take you back way before the internet, social media, and also online shopping.
