This certainly qualifies as a rare mileage cab ride! Join us in 1994 for a trip around the Kansas City Terminal Railway. Our ride is a CNW SD-18 and from that perch we hit all the highlights and see quite a few trains pass by as we travel the KCT. Narration and on-screen captions keep us informed.
This video was shot using good “prosumer” equipment of the time, but is not up to the clarity of today’s high-definition video. It is however an excellent snapshot of an important time in the nation’s railroad history. The DVD is divided into 26 chapters allowing you quick access to the 49 minute video.

A different and very welcome perspective on some iconic Kansas City railroad locations. And because the footage was shot more than 25 years ago, locomotives and freight cars seen along the way make this a rolling time machine of paint schemes and fallen flags. A nice addition to any collection and a fine companion to MoKan’s trackside KC videos.

What a better way to see the rails around the city…. cab ride. Excellent program that is well put together for the time allowed. Top marks for this one. Only thing…. the picture quality is not as we know it but remember the year it was made…For the historical value, we have to be pleased to have a program of this value.

Of the tapes I have seen this wasn’t my favorite due to the abrupt editing in this production. However. it offered an interesting look at the kct railroad scene. it is again worth buying.

Rare and well done. You can’t get a steak that way – but you can get the Kansas City Terminal that way! This cab ride is a rare treat and the DVD is well done. Thanks to Bob Ernst for getting the cab ride and to RailfanDepot for bringing back the MoKan line.
