In this volume, you’ll ride the Indiana portion of this train, from Riverton, Indiana (on the Wabash River border with Illinois) to Martin siding, just outside of Terre Haute. Enjoy the busiest part of the Indiana Rail Road with heavy welded rail and CTC.We have several cameras on board the locomotives, and you’ll enjoy the ride from a variety of angles. The audio is just as interesting. We carefully placed microphones on the exterior of the units (there is no sound from the interior of the locomotive cab). The Indiana Rail Road is one of the more interesting regional railroads in the United States, and along the way you’ll learn the history of the line and about current operations.

In this installment of the Indiana Railroad Cab Ride Collection, the program was recorded on March 26, & 3 months later on June 18, 2014.

On the 3-26-14 cab ride, a pair of Union Pacific AC4400CW units 5967 that was built in April of 2003, & 5635 are leading an empty coal train while 5565 is pushing on the rear as they head for the Wyoming Powder River Basin Coal Mines, While 3 months later on the 6-18-14 trip, the freight is led by 5894 & 5746 while 6325 (referenced to a Grand Trunk Western 4-8-4 that used to operate on the Ohio Central in the early 2000s only) is pushing on the rear.

Locations for this part include the Wabash River on the Illinois Indiana State Line at Riverton near Milepost 120.4, Merom at Milepost 118.7 with the route 58 crossing, New Lebannon siding at Milepost 114.4 with a wye that goes to the Hoosier energy lead North of the previous location, Busseron Creek Bridge, Crossing state Highway 41, Buck Creek Bridge, Sullivan at Milepost 110 (referenced to a Little River 4-6-2 in Michigan with the junction to CSX’s Evansville Subdivision), Morrison Creek Bridge, Cummings Siding, Cass siding at Milepost 103, Route 54 bridge, Duger at Milepost 101, the twin wyes at Glenn while switching subdivisions, Route 54 crossing, Finley at INRD Junction while switching subs once again, Hiawatha with the Route 2 crossing & Yard, Jasonville at Milepost 203.3, Lewis Dock Siding at Crowe, Lewis at Milepost 194.9, Blackhawk signals with a wye, Keller, & ends at the CSX interchange at Martin Siding near Terre-Haute with the Spur at Riley & under the highway 641 bridge.

At one time, the Indiana Railroad used to be a Narrow-Gauge company.

All in all, not only did Les Jarrett perform a Well-Done job filming the Indiana railroad, but also doing his own narration as well.

A continuation of Vol. # 1, a very interesting video. Lots of different camera action shows great views of what the crew sees. It is mainly flat farm land that the rails travel through with a few rolling hills, however… the scenery is still interesting even though there are no leaves on the trees, it looks good for rail fanning. The video producers do a fine job with an overhead map to explain where they are going at the beginning of the video. Narration is informative and the narrator has knowledge of the railroad and the area it travels through. Well done. I would recommend purchasing the entire series together .

This is a great well made DVD, It covers the Western end of the INRD system and covers all the little towns, yards and sidings. The camera angles are excellent.
