Pine Junction at Gary, Indiana hosts 2 double track main lines, from CSX and Norfolk Southern. Joining that traffic is the single line from Canadian National (former EJ&E). Besides our host railroads, we’ll see Amtrak, Canadian Pacific, South Shore, Union Pacific, BNSF and Indiana Harbor Belt at Pine Junction. It makes for a busy hot spot!

This program is mostly video clips of trains. No train ID’s or directions are shown, which would be helpful.

This is a nice follow-up to the Gary, Indiana “Hot Spot” Highball released in 2000. You’ll see locomotives from a number of different railroads, a kaleidoscope of paint schemes and a nice variety of consists. Highball’s videography is well done, and the trains sound great. There’s always something moving through Pine Junction … often multiple trains at once … and this program gives you the best seat in the house!

Pine Junction (Gary Indiana) is a fine video with lots of train action. CN, CP, Amtrak, UP, BNSF… etc.. all make appearances. It is a junction which is always a better location for rail fans. Over all… a good video. Remember… it is the basic hot spot video, so some people will get bored after a while.

great dvd….lots of action. Filmed from several directions, at the same location. Since filming was not that long ago, you get a good idea of what will be seen…if you make the trip there.

A well made DVD, as always some great trains and great locations. A must have for any railfan interested in the Northern Indiana rail scene.
