Exciting action seen from the railfan park at Cassandra, Pennsylvania on the busy Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh line. This is manned helper country in both directions, and eastbounds are working hard up the grade. We also take a fascinating look at a MoW crew changing a rail in the middle of the action then spend the day around Cresson, with 10 of NS’s SD80MAC’s making an appearance.

Everything you hope for in a day of railfanning: a great viewing location close to the action, a steady parade of trains and a nice variety of locomotives and consists. And if you’ve got an MoW crew working nearby, so much the better! Much of the video is shot from a slightly elevated vantage point, which is nice. And Highball’s usual top-notch videography and the sound of passing trains put you right in the middle of the action. Until you get to Cassandra (or get back), this is 90 minutes of enjoyable video railfanning.

Cassandra Pennsylvania is a nice location for rail fans. This video shows plenty of action in the immediate area. Lots of heavy trains in this very hilly region. With the hills are helper units working hard to assist the movements. The video shows a good look at a MOW train working at rail changing. Over all…. a fine video presentation.
