The trains are stunning, but the setting might be the star. This is one of those off-the-beaten-path locations railfans dream about visiting one day, and Highball has done a nice job of showcasing the location as well as the trains. The snow adds an extra dimension to the canyon, and the winter lighting was especially rich. Throw in some of railroading’s newest high-horsepower locomotives and long, heavy trains and you’ve got another “must have” Hot Spot from Highball Productions.

The scenic beauty of Kingman Canyon is awesome, and the videographer does a fine job showing it from different angles. The show opens with a snowy scene taking away the “Arizona” image that most of us know. A great parade of trains travelling in opposite directions with meets is good. However…. no narration or screen graphics to be heard or seen. So, for the railfan… what is going on? After about 10 or 15 minutes….. interest in the video is gone. If not for the interest in the scenery of the region…. I would have turned it off.
