The massive ships that are featured in Part 1 which was released in 2000 are:
1. Charles M. Beeghley built in Toledo Ohio during 1959
2. Canadian Enterprise built in 1979 as it is arriving at Duluth during 2 days in April of 1999
3. Edward L. Ryerson built in 1960 at East Chicago Indiana
4. Presque Isle built in 1972 and/or 1973 heading for Duluth & Sault St. Marie
5. Armco built in Loraine Ohio during 1953 as it arrives at a site called Sherman Park
6. Tadoussac built in 1969 for Canada Steamship Lines as it’s arriving in Duluth during April of 1997 while the lake is still covered in ice as there is also a short visit to the Duluth Missabe & Iron Range Ore Dock with an SD40-2 pushing the miniature hoppers
7. Adam E. Cornelius built in 1973 as the Roger M. Keys until 1989 with Algosound in the Background
8. John G. Munson built in 1952 with the twin turbines built in Lynn Massachusetts
9. Alpena built in 1942 as Leon Frasier
10. Paul R. Tregurtha built in 1981 as the Willian D. Lancey until 1990
11. Algomarine built in 1968 on a very windy day in April of 1999
12. Federal Rhine built in China in 1997 which is one of the newest container ships ever assembled in the modern era as it is towed by a tugboat called Vermont built in 1949
13. Kinsman Independent built in 1952 & it has some different names over the years which the turbines on that ship were built in Quincy MA in 1941
14. Wolf River built in 1956 in St. Catherine Ontario Canada as it too also had different names over the years with John Sherman in the background, as it was filmed on June 30th 1998
And 15. Ferry Car Badger built in 1953 for the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway
The music in the opening & closing credits, was also used in some Vintage steam shows by the late Greg Scholl.
