Glory Machines of the Grand Trunk Western, 1950s Steam

Excellent film from the 1950s, we see a a great variety of GTW steam power with Grand Trunk 2-8-0s, 2-8-2s, 4-6-2s, 4-8-2s and 4-8-4s hauling freight, and passenger and commuter trains. This show is produced from all color, crisp, 16mm film shot by Ben Young, Jr. and Dick Baldwin.

For some really amazing shots we go with Dick Baldwin on a helicopter in the 1960s to chase Dick Jensen’s ex-GTW 4-6-2 5629 on an outbound from Chicago excursion. This is truly some of the most spectacular chase footage ever filmed! You’ll look right into the cab as the chopper gets down next to the engine as it hauls its train across northern Indiana! This should be a must for every steam fan.
