Fast Freight on the BNSF Northern TransCon

Burlington Northern Santa Fe’s northern transcontinental main line runs from Chicago to the ports in the Pacific Northwest. C. Vision Productions captures the images of BNSF trains traversing a section of the Trans-Con over the east end of the Staples Subdivision from Staples to Minneapolis, Minnesota. This main line is full of train variety. Intermodal and stack trains dominate, but manifest, coal and grain also polish the iron of this main line. C. Vision spent many months following these trains, in all four seasons.

Several locomotives in the Heritage paint scheme head up trains, along with predecessors, Santa Fe and Burlington Northern. B.N.’s “Pulling for Freedom” SD-60M is also spotted just before it was repainted.
