European Railway 80: Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, Hungary

* Switzerland – a look at the Bahn Festival on the Rhatische Bahn held on 9th and 10th of June 2018, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Albula and Bernina Railway routes becoming World Heritage sites. There is plenty of vintage traction on offer, including steam locos G 3 / 4 no: 11 of 1903, G 4/5 no: 108 of 1906, and steam snow-blower XROTD 9213. Historic electric locomotives include Ge 4/6 353 of 1914, Ge 2/4 222 of 1913 and Crocodiles Ge 6/6 414 and Ge 4/4 182. In addition there was a vast array of historic rolling stock and electric multiple units including ABe 4/4 no: 30
* France – electric locomotives at work on a main line south of Paris., With BB26000, BB7200, BB22200, BB27000, BB60100, E4000 and class 66 seen on passenger and freight turns. Lineside interludes features a stop at Vallorcine on the metre-gauge St.Gervais-Chamonix-Chatellard Railway.
* Germany – an evening in the Rhine Valley at Kaub. Classes 427, 428, 185, 186, 145, 182, 152 and 482 are all seen.
* Austria – a study of traffic to the south of Salzburg on the route to Bischofshofen. Filmed in 2017 and 2018 we call in at various stations and photographic spots on this often-overlooked line.
* Hungary – rural line freight diversions to the south of Budapest featuring M62 diesels. Filmed in July 2018.
