See an 1875 Wood Burner built by Baldwin and the rail bus built in 1933 for the Rio Grande Southern, known as a Goose. This is true narrow gauge charm.

Built by Baldwin in 1875, wood burning 4-4-0 “Eureka” performs at the Durango and Silverton Scenic Railroad Railfest. Originally built for the Eureka and Palisades, Eureka was sold for scrap, featured in movies and badly damaged in a fire. Lovingly restored, Eureka now runs occasionally at Railfests. Goose #5 was built in 1933 for the Rio Grande Southern, and worked carrying passengers and mail until 1952. Restored by the Galloping Goose Historical Society of Delores, #5 sees occasional service on the Durango & Silverton. In addition to runby’s, you’ll see the ride ahead between Taft and Hermosa from the Goose’s cab. Two DVD set.
