This program begins with 1962 early generation diesels and post merger paint schemes in the western states: Ohio and Indiana. The action moves to the eastern end of the railroad in Pennsylvania and New York with freight action and electric commuters. Emery then chases a steam powered fan trip over the former Erie Railroad main line to Binghamton! Next we continue with the 1973 steam fan trip chase, now running on Delaware, Lackawanna & Western trackage. You will see spectacular action and impressive scenes of the Tunkhannock Viaduct and other landmark locations. More eastern end freight and commuter action follows. The return to the western end in 1974 takes this Heritage program to the finale of the E-L merger with the formation of Conrail in 1976.

  2. Lloyd

To be honest, I knew next to nothing about the Erie Lackawanna RR before the purchase of this video program. 2 regions became one to compete in the tough railroad market of the north east, which inturn failed and became part of the Conrail system. Many of the railroad locations are featured with the many different locomotives and paint schemes. Personally, I could have done without the steam excursion, but that is just my thoughts. Overall, a fine program

  3. Mwdonoughue

This program showcases many of the freight and passenger trains that ran on the EL, right up until its merger with Conrail, including a special steam trip involving Reading T-1 #2102, disguised as a Delaware & Hudson 4-8-4.
