Visiting the East Broad Top is like stepping into a time warp, the railroad is virtually unchanged. The “Fall Spectacular” provides the opportunity to wander the shop area and revel in the sight of four narrow gauge steam locomotives in their original, unchanged, authentic surroundings. Trains ran throughout the weekend, including a freight and doubleheaders. Largely unspoiled and unchanged in decades, with four narrow gauge Mikes in steam – see the EBT as it must have been in its heyday!

25 years ago on the weekend of October 12, & 13 1996, the only 3 foot narrow gauge railroad in the northeast region of America was hosting a railfan weekend. Not only does most of the baldwin built 2-8-2 mikados are in action (engines 15, 14, 17, & 12) but also Motorcar M-1 is also included as well as toner switcher M-7.
While the railroad was closed after the 2011 season, the entire tracks, Orbisonia station, Roundhouse, coal tower, rolling stock, & of course the locomotives are still intact, until it was returned to service in the recent months of 2021.
Overall, Peter Falconi did an excellent job narrating this historic look at one of the most unique & interesting steam railroads of the American Northeast.
