This is a comprehensive look at Deshler: A 2-dvd set in one case with 3 hours of coverage shot over a 4-year span from 2006-2009 covering parts of more than 11 different days! Deshler is located in Northwest Ohio on the busy east-west CSX mainline to Chicago. This is former B&O trackage, and includes a diamond where the double-track line crosses the Toledo Sub, running from Cincinnati to Toledo. The abandoned passenger depot and tower form nice backdrops. Disc One looks at Deshler traffic from 2006-2007 with a lot of CSX and even UP and BNSF power. On Disc Two among other things you will see two winter visits with some snow and ice during the shooting in Deshler. Most trains are identified, and the direction and times of day are provided with each scene on the screen. There are a great number of different types of trains and motive power. Over 120 trains are shown on the two DVD set. On the Toledo Sub near Deshler we see color position signals which hearken back to the days of the B&O.

Years ago, I had the wonderful opportunity of visiting Deshler OH. and spending time at the railfan park. Unfortunately, I did not own a video cam at the time as this is one of the best locations for railfanning. Greg Scholl has done a fantastic job at keeping the memories alive as for me….. distance now keep me from travelling to this fine place. There is no end to the trains, and lots of foreign power makes it’s way by. Yes…. it is a diamond, but it is also a connection point between east-west and north-south trains that travel through the Park. Another favorite in my railroad video library. Highly recommended to all to enjoy
