Curtis Hill, Oklahoma is still a major bottleneck on BNSF’s former Santa Fe transcon between Chicago and Los Angeles. The east slope of the hill was double tracked in 1995, the west side was being double tracked as we shot this video, but there is still the single track over the Cimarron River. Curtis Hill is also the location of the longest continuous curve on the former Santa Fe between Chicago & LA. Loads of action, lots of different power, and with fleets of trains of scheduled over the hill.
Curtis Watson –
I purchased this program for reasons that should be obvious (my name), and enjoyed seeing this stretch of the BNSF newtork.

This is a typical runby railroad video. Lots of long trains, many are intermodals. Being that I did not have much on Oklahoma, I wanted this video. Yes, it is a good video. The scenery is as much a part of it as the trains themselves are.

Watch as BNSF trains tackle Curtis Hill in Oklahoma, its not a big grade as cajon pass or marias pass, but its still enough to slow down trains. Watch anything from intermodals to grain train grind up the hill.
