Green Frog continues its exciting series covering CSX, as photographer Rich Kugel takes us on a spectacular tour of the former New York Central lines that serve Albany, New York. The hub of CSX operations is the sprawling Selkirk Yard, located just south of Albany. In addition to viewing the yard itself, we will explore the CSX lines that converge into this tremendous facility including the River Line, the Hudson Line, and the Boston Line.
br>We will then head west along the legendary Chicago Line and witness a non-stop parade of trains. The scenery is among the finest to be found anywhere in the east, including the Hudson River, the Berkshire Mountains, and the Mohawk Valley. In addition to CSX, we will also enjoy trains of Conrail, Amtrak, MBTA, Metro- North, New England Central, Canadian National, and Canadian Pacific. The action was captured during all four seasons, from the lush foliage of spring and summer, through the brilliant colors of autumn, and finally, to the bone-crunching cold of winter. The Hudson River resembled the tundra, as it froze from bank to bank during one of the severest Arctic outbreaks in decades!
