The Water Level Route was one of Big Blue’s busiest… we visit locations from Erie to Cleveland, including Lake City, Conneaut, Ashtabula, Geneva, Madison, Painesville, Wickliffe, Collinwood, Cleveland, and Berea. Lake effect blizzards are seen, along with UP, CSX, NS, ATSF run-through power…but mostly modern EMD and GE power on TV, freight, coal, and local. The parallel NS mainline (ex-NKP) is also seen at Madison and Wickliffe.

As with part 1, this video has minimal narration and text on the screen shows location and direction of the trains. Multiple train meets are shown as well as trains in the snow. Videos are steady with a minimum of panning. Many shots show the entire train, while other shots cut to the end. This is a very good video I highly recommend.

The lakeshore line is awsome. Old NYC is such an interesting railroad. Clear Blocks Conrail Conclusion is one of the best video series ever put together. This is one of those. I think Clear Block Productions was one of the best producers on the market. It is a shame that he didn’t get to produce more videos.
