Conrail’s Buffalo Line, Part 1: This program was shot over a five month period between January and May of 1996. During our visit between the historic Rockville Bridge (Rockville, Pennsylvania) and CP Kase in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, Conrail was running four scheduled trains a day. We capture these trains on the southern part of the Buffalo Line, plus empty and loaded coal trains, CP detour trains, and a CP high and wide. We also see the North Shore Railroad at Sunbury going onto the Shamokin Valley Line. Other locations of interest are: CP Wye, Hecks, CP Stoney, Dauphin, Millersburg, former “LV” Jct., CP South Boyles, and Fisher’s Ferry. 60 minutes.

Conrail’s Buffalo Line, Part 2: In this installment we will be following the Buffalo Line at some great railfanning spots from CP Kase (in Sunbury, Pennsylvania) to Renovo, Pennsylvania. We start our journey at CP Kase, milepost 257, where we left off in “Buffalo Line, Part One”. Locations Include: Celotex Factory, CP Kase, Northumberland Yard, Front St. Station, CP Norry, CP Wat, Montgomery, Muncy, Koppers, Linden, McElhatten, CP Lock Haven, Farrandsville, Hyner State Park, Farwell, Renovo. 1 hour 10 minutes.

Conrail’s Buffalo Line, Part 3: Follow the Buffalo Line from Renovo, Pennsylvania to Buffalo, New York. This program was shot between 1996-1998 when Conrail was operating four scheduled daily trains. You will see Conrail locals working the Farmer’s Valley and Olean Secondaries. We also see freight trains working at Emporium and Olean yards. Watch as Conrail tackles the grade at Keating Summit. In addition, RJ Corman brings a coal train from the WBV to Keating, and the Buffalo & Pittsburgh picks up cars at the interchange in Driftwood.

Extras in this volume include: Maps, Map Slideshows and Extensive Conrail Timetable Slideshow. 1 hour 48 minutes.

BONUS DISC: Tifft Street Afternoon: Tifft Street Bridge in Buffalo was a well known railfan location. It is now less railfan-friendly with a rebuilt, screened bridge. Some 40 trains pass through this busy yard area in the afternoon we were there! We see power from Conrail, CSX, BN, UP, NS, South Buffalo, GATX, Kyle Leasing and the Buffalo & Pittsburgh. Traffic was almost constant, with times that there was always a train in sight – and sometimes from several directions at once. 60 minutes.
