Visit the main station in Cologne, Germany for intensive passenger train service under the superb arched glass roof. Lots of ICE trains of both styles, plus electric hauled intercity and local services, both emu’s and dmu’s and a diesel hauled passenger train. Then it’s off to trackside to see trains at speed, then we visit busy Cologne West for passenger and freight trains, both electric and diesel, with a variety of different power and operators.

A nice variety of diesels and electrics, freight and passenger service from several different locations. However, narration needs to be improved. Narrator concentrates on the power, but very little is said about the actual trains themselves…. where they are going or coming from. Next to nothing is is said about the freight trains and the differences from North American trains. While we (my family) enjoyed seeing the trains, we were hoping to learn more about the actual system like what the freight cars were actually caring. Eg: What appears to be “open top bulk carriers…. what are they actually for… bulk ore, ballast cars or other commodities. What about the tankers…. looks like they are riding on removable bogies like our Triple Crown trains, but not really sure as nothing is said about them. Over all, a good video but recommended only if really interested in the gerenal location.

WHAT AN ACTION PACKED DVD THIS IS, WITH ALL KINDS OF ACTION GOING ON. SEE THE PASSENGER STATION IN COLOGNE UNDER THE BEAUTIFUL GLASS ROOF. SEE ICE TRAINS, ELECTRIC TRAINS, A DIESEL HAULING PASSENGERS, THEN ITS OF TO SEE SOME REALLY GOOD IN YOUR FACE ACTION TRACK SIDE. GREAT SCENERY ALSO. 5 STARS AND 2 HOURS LONG AND ANOTHER GREAT FILM FROM HIGHBALL PRODUCTIONS.

Non stop endless action at the Cologne railway station. Reminded me of a trip I made to this city recently. Fast paced action that would keep any film crew on their toes. Very well shot and edited. Highly recommend.
