This fall 2012 adventure on the route of the former Rio Grande Narrow Gauge’s 4th division that is now part of today’s Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad as the 64-mile-long tourist line contains a variety of freight specials from Chama New Mexico to Antonito Colorado & back in this un-narrated program, from the angles of Peter Crook.

Which includes: 487 & 488 Double-Heading with what’s left of the abandoned Chama to Durango Line & going all the way west from Antonito, 488 switching some cars in Chama, 487 on the way to Antonito with 488 pushing on the rear as far as Cumbres before 488 went on a Caboose Hop back to Chama, 487 heading west with 488 pushing in the middle, & 488 on 3 solo freight trains.

Aside from the freight specials, there are also some scenes of 487 on the regular passenger train which was on the same day as one of 488’s solo freight specials, as well as 489 on the regular passenger train.

There is a Goof spotted in the closing credits: the word Camera was spelled as C-M-E-R-A.

Great DVD with tons of awesome footage! A very unique set of days were filmed with single engine trains and two engine trains with mid-train helpers battling up each side of the railroad.
    Great buy for sure!
