On March 17, 1995, The Union Pacific announced its intention of acquiring the remaining shares of the C&NW. The purchase was complete on April 24th, the last official day of the North Western. Then, on October 1, 1995, shippers including Metra commuters started making checks payable to “Union Pacific”.
See operations on the busy East-West mainline from Boone, IA to Elmhurst, IL during early April. And then see operations in October, across Iowa and Illinois from Fremont to Chicago. We’ll also visit the C&NW Geneva Subdivision in November 1995 at West Chicago, Glen Ellyn, and DeKalb.

On disc 1, it covers the April action and ran for 49 minutes while disc 2 shot a few months later in October & November ran for 52 minutes. Besides the C&NW, there are other road names such as Union Pacific, Burlington northern, CSX, MPI, General Motors, Conrail, & Metra commuter
