CN around Chicagoland, Volume 2, IC, GM&O, EJ&E & GTW Lines

From the far northern regions of Illinois to East Chicago Indiana and everywhere in between, the reaches of CN’s massive steel network are immense. Comprised of former Wisconsin Central, Elgin, Joliet and Eastern, Illinois Central and Grand Trunk Western trackage, this multi-part series will feature all the various lines Canadian National uses to move tonnage from several corners of the system into Chicagoland. In Volume Two, the series will pick up with coverage of CN’s present operations over their former Illinois Central, Gulf Mobile and Ohio, Elgin Joliet and Eastern and Grand Trunk Western lines.

This production was over 5 Years in the making, and viewers will see a wide variety of motive power including the last of the BC Rail units, Canadian cowl GE’s, standard cab Dash 8’s and former Oakway SD60’s. Throw in Illinois Central black SD70’s on cross-town locals, take a look around the city and see trains along the former EJ&E Lines and even witness several of Norfolk Southern’s Heritage units leading CN trains! In addition, see what’s left of Grand Trunk rails on the CN system and stop by Chicago Rail Landmarks like West Chicago, Blue Island Junction, Griffith, Indiana, and more!
