California’s Mojave Desert is a magical place of rugged mountains, wide open valleys and sweeping vistas. BNSF’s former Santa Fe main line from Chicago to Los Angeles crosses this incredible landscape, and we’ll see high priority Z trains, intermodals and manifests and grain trains with multiple helper engines – running at speed across the desert, and on their knees fighting the grades. Superb winter sunshine and lots of trains in magnificent scenery! This is a lot of action and it takes a 2 DVD set!

Power variety show best describes this video. Pretty much anything that the to major companies (UP & BNSF) can throw onto the line is seen. That makes the video very interesting. From the down side….. it is the Tehachapi region, which has been majorly over done by railroad videographer & photographers, so aside from the power variety, there is not much really new to be seen.
