Visit beautiful Western Canada and pay a visit to one of North America’s handsomest steam locomotives, Canadian Pacific’s Hudson 4-6-4 #2816. The 2816 is Canadian Pacific’s ambassador of goodwill, and you’ll see her pulling a special photo train along the beautiful Bow River – through the stunning scenery near famous Banff and Lake Louise. Then you’ll see her in action pulling a passenger train from Calgary to Edmonton and return. Enjoy great runby action, as well as mile after mile of pacing right alongside the engine! This is a great addition to any steam-lover’s library!

This video was a great one but the narrator was a little hard to understand as he talked a little too fast.

This 2006/2007 Program was the very first all widescreen steam video where viewers can experience more detail in familiar scenes. Shot in May of 2006 (Amtrak’s 35th Birthday), it features special one way trips on May 1-3, plus the 19th-21 round trip excursions which includes a stop for the make a wish foundation kids who wanted to ride a steam train one last time before their deaths. Pretty sad huh? We also saw some unique pacing action of the locomotive and conclude the show with 2816 backing into the abandoned steam shops. However, the scenery is peaceful, 2816 performed flawlessly, and a marvelous job to Les Jarrett for the brilliant footage & editing. I would say go grab it and watch it.
