These DVDs cover the Boston and Maine during the late 1980s and early 1990s under the control the Guilford Rail System. As always, the heart of the B&M is at East Deerfield Yard, and that is where the action on this DVD is centered. We’ll also see action along the Fitchburg main line from Lowell, in the east, to Mechanicville Yard and Rotterdam Junction in the west. GP40s, ex-Santa Fe SD26s, Bluebird Geeps are featured. See the Hoosac Tunnel, MBTA, MEC power and more. Great runbys occur as heavy freights struggle out of the Connecticut River valley at Montague.

Great coverage of Guilford in its prime. Track speed run bys, with an array of different air horns, beat up second hand locomotives, mix match of paint schemes and in all seasons of the year. Watch trains switch East Deerfield and climb up hill westbound toward Hoosac tunnel. Great notch 8 run bys. Some of the video is a little rough and some of the run bys are back lit but even with that, you can’t see this stuff anywhere else. Quality program.

I Don’t understand why catching lots of freight action in New England is Extremely hard to do than the easily seen commuter trains & Amtrak.
