New Mexico is the Land of Enchantment and is the scenic location for BNSF’s busy Gallup Subdivision. Previously, we’ve seen the rugged grandeur of New Mexico’s Abo Canyon with its magnificent bridges and now, we push further west along the BNSF’s New Mexico Main. The vast arid high plains and towering red cliffs form a breathtaking backdrop for the BNSF’s new distinctive orange and green Heritage paint scheme reminiscent of the fabled Great Northern.

We’ll also see Burlington Northern’s familiar green and white units, Santa Fe’s blue and yellow units and of course, the nostalgic red and silver Warbonnets. So settle back and enjoy this action-packed story of a modern railroad as it passes through spectacular scenery on the Laguna and Acoma Indian reservations in the heart of the old West.

  1. Dan

A rainbow of locomotive paint schemes from BNSF and its predecessors, set against a starkly beautiful backdrop. The videography is well done, the scenery is spectacular, and the footage has taken on a greater historical significance, now that BNSF’s pre-merger locomotive paint schemes are becoming increasingly rare. Whether for the landscape or the trains, “The Land Of Enchantment” lives up to its billing in this program!

  2. T.A.R.

What a wonderful movie about the Land of Enchantment-New Mexico and the great BNSF railroad. Travel through the high plains and the majestic red cliffs of New Mexico- see the awesome orange and green scheme of the BNSF in the foreground. See also the Santa Fe blue and yellow and the awesome red and silver warbonnet scheme of the Union Pacific. A train lovers dream come true. 5 stars and 58 minutes long.
