In Part 2 of Volume 10, Cameraman Walt Berko Rhode in the cab of a Santa Fe CF7 from New Haven Connecticut on the Route of Amtrak’s Northeast Corridor, which was filmed way before the electrification was extended to Boston’s South Station, to Springfield Massachusetts which is also the route of Amtrak’s Lake Shore Limited from Boston to Chicago Via Albany New York & Cleveland Ohio on the Double Track Mainline which does include some commentary from the crew.

Other Locations aside from the 2 Southern New England Cities include North Haven Interlocking, Wallingford station, Meriden at the Kent crossovers, Berlin (not Germany), the state capitol of Hartford while going under the I-84 overpass twice which takes people in their autos from Old Sturbridge village in the east to the Steamtown museum in Scranton Pennsylvania in the west, not to mention passing Hybrid Yard, Windsor (home of the Connecticut Trolley Museum in the town’s east side), & Windsor Locks while rolling near the Connecticut river before crossing the state line.

Along the way, there are meets with Budd Cars, as well as some Maintenance of Way Equipment.

Part 1 of volume 10 covers the exact same route as this program, but the motive power is from a since been retired SPV2000.

Oh & fun fact: over a little more than 10 years after this footage was captured, Steve Neff also took a cab ride on the exact same route from New Haven to Springfield.
