The Lake State Railway Company is an all Alco powered railroad that operates on 275 miles of ex-D&M trackage in northeastern Michigan. The exciting LSRC action includes yard switching, road freights, locals, rock trains, freights, and transfers. The Alco diesel models include: S1, RS2U, RS11, RS3M, C420, HR412, M420, and C425M. The diesels are also seen in both D&M and LSRC paint schemes. We also get to see the connecting railroads of Central Michigan, CSX and U.S. Gypsum Mining. NOTE: The Lake State Railway Company is no longer an All ALCo road – so enjoy this now historic footage!

The Lake State Railway featured an all-Alco locomotive roster at the time this video was shot, and Plets Express has captured all the sights and sounds with its usual flawless videography. You’ll see a number of locomotive models in different settings, from road freights to yard work, and some train-chasing along the way. The camerawork is creative, the setting is beautiful, and there’s just the right amount of informative narration to let that great Alco sound shine through. It’s a nice glimpse at a different era in American railroading, well preserved through Plets Express’ knack for video storytelling.

LSRC is a fanstic railroad and since these scenes were shot, there has been many changes. I big fan of Plets Express as his videos are put together nicely. Plets Expres really did their research on these productions. I recommend any Plets Videos if you like informative Narration and good picture quality.
