The world famous transportation museum in Spencer was host to the Norfolk Southern’s Heritage Locomotives in 2012 as part of the NS 30th anniversary celebrations and then in 2014 put together an amazing gathering of 26 early diesel “covered wagon” locomotives and classic passenger “Streamliner” locomotives from all over the United States. Also at Spencer for the occasion – as a special guest – N&W J Class #611. 611 would go on to be fully restored and enjoy a new career at the head of excursion passenger trains.
