Mainline steam, in full steam, running through fall foliage. What better photo op is there? How about if that steamer is pulling vintage freight cars behind her? That’s what we have with “734 Photo Freight”. The Western Maryland Scenic Railroad hosts former Lake Superior & Ishpeming 2-8-0 #734 on a photo freight excursion with the hills behind 734 turning colors as summer turns to autumn. Hear her barking exhaust, and see smoke and steam plumes in the cold air as the engine works hard on the grades.
Narration can be turned off/on.

It truly does NOT get any better than this… 🙂
Our beloved Mountain Thunder lugging a photo charter up the grade to Frostburg. This one’s a “classic”… The glorious autumn foliage makes it EVEN BETTER!

Mainline steam and fall colored trees make a pretty picture on the Western Maryland.

Watching trains in the autumn season is a special time of the year and this was the best 734 video ever. Western Maryland operates between Cumberland and Frostburg every year. For some reason though the whistle on the 734 is reminiscing on one the Cass Scenic locomotives. She still put a great show for photographers of Carl Franz and May long live the Western Maryland.

l am absolutley impressed With Peter Crooke’s Footage, Editing, & Narration. You Should Get Mr. Crooke’s Dvds (No matter if it is 1 to 100 copies of each program), And You will However Feel Like You Are There For Real! Well despite the footage is now historic, the steam star of the show (LS&I 734) is gone forever due to the FRA inspection. Hopefully we’ll get our fingers crossed for 1309’s comeback.
