“50 More Cab Rides” has been produced in response to enthusiastic response to the previous “101”. While E-units, Alco Centuries, and other tried and true favorites encountered last time make an encore appearance, the goal was to include as many different types of power as possible, such as a Baldwin RS and many more.
Some links to the first volume include the “Cardinal” P42 – this time at night, westbound -and the famous French TGV, making one of her earlier test runs. There is even a “reunion”, 22 years later, with engineer and switch engine!
Some of these segments had been considered for the first volume; most are presented due to the generosity of many. Typically, these were filmed in the 1990s before “zero tolerance” cab ride policies came into effect – or in countries where riding – even driving – locos remained possible. Where there is an associated program, the title and producer are noted. However, some programs have gone out of production, while other segments are based on private collections or archival sources.
Any interesting and well-photographed films or video dealing with railroads & trolleys – cab rides or otherwise – will be considered for RAILROAD VIDEO QUARTERLY – and possibly a third CAB RIDES volume. THANK YOU for your purchase; ENJOY THE RIDE!

This sequel is really decent with interesting moments from other railroad video producers. which includes 261 in 1996 with a Lehigh & New England Steamboat Whistle by Goodheart Productions, Santa Fe 3579 on Cajon Pass by Video rails in 1955, and also some unique footages from other producers all around the world & in the United States. However: the Cumbres & Toltec Snowplow segment in this sequel, was shot in May of 1997 as both producers of America By Rail: Les Jarrett & the late Greg Scholl was there for the event.
