Made in 1989, this 2020 Pentrex Blu-Ray chronicles a huge variety of steam in a country next to Australia Down Under throughout October of 1988, that features historic still images, & countless vintage films in Black & White between the first World War in the 1910s with a really Rare Quadruple-header cab first, & 1963 which also includes Queen Elizabeth the Second touring New Zealand in 1954 as well as a 1945 look at the combined Road & Rail Bridge, a Rugby Game in 1949, & aftermaths of Accidents with some cutting for scrap.
Aside from the steam engines like the 0-4-0, 0-6-0, a 2-4-0, & 4-6-4 tank engines, with the 2-6-2 prairie type locomotives, 4-6-2 Pacifics, 4-8-2 Mountain Types, & 4-8-4 Northerns, not to mention Glenbrook Vintage Railway 2-4-4-2 number 4 built by ALCO in America in 1912, there are also Trams & Trolleys with double-decker coaches, & 1922 Built Electric Box-cabs which looks almost similar to the ones used on the Milwaukee Road, as well as an interview with Foreman Douglas Kaye.
During the Parade, listen carefully for the Brass Band playing a familiar tune: I’ve Been Working on the Railroad, as well as mentions of the New York Central’s 20th Century Limited, New Haven, & the Flying Scotsman.
This Documentary is another amazing add-on to both international & vintage railroading titles in years gone by from past to present.
