The Big Sandy River breaks away from the Ohio River where the borders of Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky meet. Paralleling the banks of the river for 26 miles is Norfolk Southern’s Pocahontas Division mainline on the east side and CSXT’s Big Sandy Subdivision on the west side.
