The Pittsburgh Line is a busy and scenic stretch of railroad, and Clear Block Productions has done a great job documenting the line’s Conrail heritage. The first part of the two-volume set travels the line from Harrisburg to Altoona, visiting its best-known locations and showing a nice cross-section of the Conrail locomotive roster and a variety of train consists. On-screen maps guide viewers on the tour, and solid, creative camerawork captures not only the trains but scenic highlights and notable locations. Volume 2 continues the tour from Altoona to Pittsburgh, including a nice look at Horseshoe Curve. Two of the best in Clear Block’s excellent “Conrail’s Conclusion” series.

Starting at Rockville Bridge, this video does a great job documenting Conrail on the part of the Pittsburgh line. Many trains are shown, including more that one train at once. Maps of the area currently being covered are shown so the viewer has an idea where the locations are. I would highly recommend this video. I am planning on getting the entire Conrail Conclusion series after watching this and the other Pittsburgh Line DVD.

Bought Pentrex Pittsburgh line blues and this, and I will say this one was more informative. Clear Blocks Conrail Conclusion is one of the best video series ever put together. This is one of those. I think Clear Block Productions was one of the best producers on the market. It is a shame that he didn’t get to produce more videos.
