The Western and Atlantic Railroad has a long rich history as a strategic railroad link for commerce and, during the Civil War, of military importance. More recently this was part of the L&N and now this line is a vital artery for CSX with routes from Nashville and Chattanooga converging at C.P. Junta in Cartersville where we pick up the action. Here traffic funneled south to Atlanta and other points in the Southeast.
The program is arranged in geographical order and covers the W&A Sub for 21 miles through beautiful North Georgia countryside from Cartersville to Kennesaw. Other locations include Acworth and Emerson.
We also pay a visit to “The General’s historical exhibit. 37 trains are featured. Subtitles provide train information.

A great look at modern-day action on a stretch of railroad with a fascinating history. As with other R-Line Video productions, the videography and editing are very well done and the camera locations are interesting. There’s no narration, but on-screen graphics provide train, date and location information and leave room for the sounds of the trains. A fine addition to any railfan video collection.

20+ miles, close to 40 trains… excellent screen captions covering the content. A busy line that is well worth seeing. It’s an area not many rail fans focus on for great train action so Thanks to the producer for bringing this to us to enjoy. Very impressed with the presentation.
