The Iowa Interstate Railroad is a large Midwest regional running 470 miles over former Rock Island trackage from Chicago, Illinois to Council Bluffs, Iowa. This late 1990s look at the IAIS shows a fascinating variety of early diesels from EMD and ALCO to transport their trains of unit grain, intermodal, and mixed freight. Including: GP 7, 8, 9, 10, 16 & 38, SD20, SW1200, RS36, C420, and M420s. This exciting show features both switching and road freights. You’ll see many towns, grain elevators, ex-Rock Island depots and beautiful Iowa and Illinois scenery.
Also the Iowa Interstate’s connecting railroads are briefly shown including the Crandic and the P&PU. Each Plets Express DVD comes with a map and additional information to make it easy and enjoyable to follow along with the program.
