One of the bright spots of New England railroading, the St. L & A runs from Danville Junction, Maine to Island Pond, Vermont. We chased trains up and down the line over the winter of 1991/2 braving snow, ice and some bitter cold to bring you some splendid footage. In addition to ex CV GP9’s, GATX MP15’s and GP4O’s we see CN GP4OL’s in the splendid winter scenery of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont. This is an early Highball Productions program and the equipment used, while professional for the time, if not up to today’s video standards… it is however a great “blast from the past”!
This is a Highball Productions best seller.

It will only take a few minutes before you appreciate the fact that someone else ventured out to record this program, and you’re watching it from somewhere warm! Great winter scenery, and operations and locomotives that are now 30 years old. The video is top notch, especially given its age and the harsh conditions. The trains don’t take the day off when the weather turns bad, and apparently neither does Highball Productions! Nicely done.

This is a well made portrayal of the Saint Lawrence & Atlantic in the winter of 1991 to 1992. You get a great sense of the snow and bitter cold of a Northern New England winter!
