Berea, Ohio is the point that CSX’s Columbus line and NS’s Chicago line meet, just to the south of Cleveland. Power is divided pretty evenly between CSX, NS and former Conrail units, plus some run-through power. With 50 movements in 12 hours, this can be a busy place.

A visit to Berea is on the “bucket list” for many railfans, and this is a nice chance to see an iconic hot spot while Conrail locomotives were still around. CSX and Norfolk Southern acquired Conrail shortly before this video was shot, and Berea was still seeing a nice mix of locomotives from all three railroads, plus some foreign visitors. Not much narration, just a steady parade of trains … and something for railfans nostalgic for Big Blue.

It is interesting….. It is Berea. Always been known for a good location for railfans to see trains operating, and this video is not disappointing for that. It is the typical Hot Spot video…. very little narration, screen graphics showing the time. But not much else.
